Spider silk material picks up fabric fabric revolution BoltThreads intends billion dollar financing

According to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, BoltThreads, a biotech startup that can make spider silk through microbes, is seeking $106 million in Series D financing.

Since the media first reported BoltThreads' ambition to make spider silk, the company's development has been good. Perhaps you don't know, the bitumin is a stronger material, but it is also softer and more plentiful. Previously, the company has partnered with the Patagonia brand and designer Stella McCCartney. It also acquired BestMadeCompany and raised $90 million to support its Silicon Valley operations.

Some analysts pointed out that this $106 million will bring new help to it. According to relevant documents, the company's total equity financing has reached $57 million, and FoundationCapital and Formation8 continue to vote. If this financing goal is reached, BoltThreads will total $196 million in financing.
