Home textile textiles have achieved significant growth in environmental certification

On March 24th, due to the global consumer awareness of environmental textile consumption, the textile manufacturers' enthusiasm for eco-certification of products was promoted.
According to the information provided by TESTEX Swiss Textile Testing Co., Ltd., the official representative of Oeko-Tex China, as of January 2009, the number of Oeko-Tex Standard 100 environmental textile certifications issued worldwide has exceeded 72,000. The number of certificates issued in January 2008 increased by 14.7%. Among them, the number of certificates issued in Asia accounted for 50.2% of the global total, ranking first, followed by Europe, accounting for 46.6% of the global total.
From the country statistical analysis of the certificate companies, the number of Oeko-Tex certificates is more than that of German companies. From the category of certified products, the number of garment certificates is more than 2%, accounting for 32% of the total number of certificates issued, followed by home textile products, accounting for 23%. Among the home textile products, the distribution of all kinds of certified products is: textiles, bathroom and kitchen textiles with terry cloth as the main fabric account for 30%; bed sheets account for 20%; quilts, duvet covers, bedspreads and quilts are occupied by 20%. %; furniture covers, furniture decoration materials, mattresses and furniture fillings account for 20%; curtains and curtains products account for 10%. It is reported that home textile products that hang the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 confidence textile tag can give consumers a lot of ecological safety information. For example: foam products (such as mattresses) and large-area coated products (such as tablecloths and shower curtains with a waterproof coating on the surface), in addition to PH, formaldehyde, heavy metals, phthalates, azo dyes In addition to routine ecological performance tests such as sensitizing carcinogenic dyes, an additional test for the release of volatiles was also passed. Pillows and pillowcases can be used directly after purchase, which reduces the consumer's previous need to wash before use to further remove harmful substances, prolonging the service life of the product. Sheets and terry fabrics that meet certification requirements have very good wash and sweat fastness to ensure they are not irritating to human skin during use.
Depending on how closely the textile is in contact with the skin during use, the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 standard classifies textiles into four categories (four levels): infant textiles under age 3 (first grade), direct contact with skin textiles (second Level), no direct contact with skin textiles (third grade) and home textiles (fourth grade). Certified product test indicators require the basic principle of “closer to the skin, the stricter the requirements”. Sheets, terry textiles, pillows, pillowcases and mattresses are classified as a second category of textiles. Textile home textiles such as carpets and wall decorations are classified as Category 4 textiles, and kitchen textiles are classified as Category 4. Household textile products for infants under 3 years old are classified into the first category of textiles according to the standard. At the time of certification, the test indicators of such textiles need to be evaluated in strict accordance with the first level.
